Very Last Chance to Participate in ABACUS-14 [3]

Today is the final opportunity for booksellers to submit their numbers to this year’s ABACUS survey.

After midnight (Pacific Time) on July 9, the online ABACUS-14 submission form will be closed.

“We are immensely grateful to the hundreds of booksellers who have joined the ABACUS community by submitting their information,” said Dan Cullen, ABA senior strategy officer. “Their participation has ensured that ABACUS will again be an insightful and informative analysis of bookselling, and one with great strategic utility for bookstores.”

Cullen added, “To the booksellers who have started, but have not yet completed the ABACUS survey, there is still time! This is one thing you can do today that will have very positive long-term results.”

All ABA main store members were sent an e-mail in early June that included their unique ABACUS I.D. number, instructions for participating, and links to the online submission form. The e-mail bore the subject line “ABACUS-14 USE THIS LINK,” and the sender was Martha Love, the National Association of College Stores’ OnCampus Research information analyst.

The owners and employees of stores that participate in this year’s ABACUS Survey will be eligible for the Avin Mark Domnitz Scholarship to Winter Institute 11 (Wi11). Next year, ABA’s premier educational event will be held in Denver, Colorado, and will open with a reception on Saturday, January 23, followed by three days of education and programming, from Sunday, January 24, through Tuesday, January 26.

Booksellers at stores that have submitted their 2014 financial data to ABACUS can apply for the Domnitz Scholarship by sending an e-mail with “Domnitz Scholarship” in the subject line to ABA Education Manager Lisa Winn [5]. The e-mail should include the applicant’s name, job title, store name, and store contact information.

Booksellers with questions about submitting data to the survey can contact Love at OnCampus Research via [email protected] [6] or (800) 622-7498, ext. 2448.
