The New Edelweiss Is Here [4]

We gave a preview of the new Edelweiss (we’re calling it Edelweiss+ to differentiate it from the now-old Edelweiss) at this year’s Winter Institute and were greatly encouraged by the reception there. Since then, we’ve been adding, testing, and rethinking everything, and have had a few small groups of beta-testers kicking the tires. We’re quite pleased to announce that Edelweiss+ Beta is open!

You can find it at www.edelweiss.plus [6]. Go play around! It will look a lot different from the Edelweiss you’re used to, but you’ll find that the key functions are still relatively similar.

It’s important to note that the site is still in beta, meaning that we’ll be making continued improvements, many of which will come from feedback from users like you.

In Edelweiss+, you’ll find a fully customizable and very visual dashboard to help you find and track those things that are most important to you, whether that’s your orders, catalogs and markups, available digital review copies, what your friends and colleagues are reviewing, and more. Each element on the dashboard allows for customization of what you see and a time frame that is most relevant to you and your use. You can even hide functions that don’t interest you. In fact, when you log in the first time you’ll have the opportunity to take a short guided tour of the dashboard, and you’ll see some on-site help links scattered throughout the site. Just look for the question mark (?).

You’ll have more information at your fingertips while ordering, especially, of course, those of you who use Treeline Analytics.

Most of the frontlist titles you buy will not have on-hand or on-order information, or even rep suggestions, but those that do will be nice and obvious.

Instantly filter and re-sort a catalog by a number of different parameters, including your own orders or POS stock status, or even according to review or shelf activity.

And so, so much more.

Some points to note: Edelweiss and Edelweiss+ will be running side-by-side, so work you do in one will be reflected in the other, although there could be a slight delay. We’ll keep both sites going for a while (until sometime early next year) to give you time to learn Edelweiss+ without having to “cram.” We understand that change can be tough. With that in mind, stay tuned for information about training opportunities, including education sessions at the fall regional tradeshows, webinars, etc. Of course, there is also a full suite of help documents ready for you, which you can find here [7].

As usual, feedback and questions are very welcome at [email protected] [8].
