Ci7 App: Use the Map [5]

Attendees at the seventh annual Children’s Institute [7] (Ci7) will have the ability to see city and hotel maps for the June 26–28 event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the 2019 Children’s Institute app [8], which aims to enhance the experience for booksellers, publishers and sponsors, speakers, and guests.

Crowdcompass logoOn the app, Ci7 attendees can check out maps of this year’s host hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh-Green Tree, and of the city of Pittsburgh. The city map will also include each store location that booksellers will be visiting on the full [9] and half-day [10] bookstore tours on Wednesday, June 26.

The hotel map shows every location where ABA will be hosting events during Ci7, and, by clicking on the pinpoint in that location, users will be led to the list of events being held there over the course of the institute. If a user is looking at the institute schedule on the app, they can jump to that session location on the map by clicking the pinpoint in the session description.

The Children’s Institute event is part of the CrowdCompass AttendeeHub app, which is free and available through the App Store or Google Play for Apple or Android devices. Booksellers who downloaded the app for the 2019 Winter Institute do not need to download it again. Once the app is installed, Children’s Institute attendees should look for an icon of a compass on their devices; inside the app, search for “Children’s Institute.”

In addition to scheduling, the Ci7 app can also be used to view the event schedule and create a personalized agenda; message fellow attendees; view keynote speakers and the list of attending authors; view all sponsors and Consultation Station vendors; give session feedback; and receive late-breaking reminders.

Ci7 attendees will need to create accounts in the app to access all of the app’s features; the “Using This App” section of the app provides details on editing your app profile and other useful instructions. The app is available for Apple devices (minimum operating system iOS 10) or Android devices that have access to the Google Play Store (minimum operating system 6.0).

App content is also visible in the web version [8] using the following Internet browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 11, and Edge.

More information about the app is available here. [11]
