ABA Seeks Feedback on Childcare Options for 2020 Winter Institute [3]

The American Booksellers Association has launched a survey to gauge the level of interest in childcare options [5] for the 15th annual Winter Institute, which will be held January 21–24 in Baltimore, Maryland.

ABA is considering partnering with the national company Flexable [6] to provide on-site childcare at the 2020 event. If survey responses indicate that this amenity will be utilized by attendees, ABA will pursue securing Flexable’s services.

All registered attendees — booksellers, publishers, authors, and guests — will be able to take advantage of the service. The cost of childcare will be dependent on the commitment level by parents; Flexable charges $100 a day per caregiver, and one caregiver is required for every five children.

Completing the survey is no guarantee that on-site childcare will be available during the conference, nor should the survey be considered a registration form to secure childcare; attendees will be asked to sign up at a later date once the service is finalized.
