As part of the American Booksellers Association’s partnership with Well-Read Black Girl [6] (WRBG) founder Glory Edim, participating booksellers around the country are invited to check out these suggested titles for their Well-Read Black Girl book clubs to try in November, including one adult and one young adult title:

Dozens of booksellers have already signed up to host Well-Read Black Girl [9] book clubs in their stores this year. Independent booksellers nationwide are invited to e-mail [email protected] [10] to sign up to host a book club or to share ideas; be sure to include your name, store name, city, and state. Many of the stores that have already signed up are featured on an interactive map on IndieBound.org [11]; as stores continue to sign up to host WRBG book clubs, they will be added to this map so customers can find a book club near them.

Bookstores can also visit the designated Well-Read Black Girl page [6] on BookWeb.org to download marketing assets [12], including a WRBG website stamp, banners, and e-cards, and to join a private Facebook Group [13].

Edim is currently looking for participating bookstores to send in photos of their Well-Read Black Girl book club meetings in action at their stores, which she will use in her presentation for the Well-Read Black Girl Festival [14], taking place in Brooklyn, November 2–3. All photos can be sent to [email protected] [15]. Alternatively, booksellers can also provide permission for Edim to use screenshots of their social media posts that relate to their store’s WRBG book club activities.
