Bookseller PK Sindwani Appointed ABA's New Chief Financial Officer [3]

PK Sindwani has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the American Booksellers Association. Until recently, Sindwani was the owner of Towne Book Center & Cafe [5]in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, which he owned for 29 years.

PK SindwaniSindwani holds a master's of business administation from Texas Southern University and has previously held finance-aligned positions including vice president of finance, corporate comptroller, and financial accountant. He has also served as treasurer on the New Atlantic Independent Bookstore Association (NAIBA) Board of Directors and has been an active participant in ABA events and programs, including the well-received financial workshop, which he presented at ABA conferences and regional shows with the association's previous CFO, Robyn DesHotel.

“Allison Hill, ABA’s incoming CEO, and I have worked closely on this appointment, and we are especially excited to have a bookseller fill this position,” said Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Senior Staff Member Joy Dallanegra-Sanger. “PK’s financial and bookselling experience will be invaluable for ABA’s future.”

Sindwani joined ABA on Monday, November 4, in a part-time capacity as he helps transition ownership of Towne Book Center & Cafe. He will be attending ABA’s 2020 Winter Institute, so booksellers attending the event in Baltimore, Maryland, are encouraged to take the time to meet and congratulate him there.
