Booksellers are invited to register now for one of two seminars at the American Booksellers Association’s IndieCommerce Institute, which will be taking place on Tuesday, January 21, during the 15th annual Winter Institute [7]. Registration for Winter Institute is not required to attend the IndieCommerce Institute.

The IndieCommerce Institute will offer two seminars, one for IndieCommerce stores and one for IndieLite stores [8]. The IndieLite Seminar costs $59 and will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Brent Room on the third floor of the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor. Check out BTW for more about the IndieCommerce Seminar [9] or see the full IndieCommerce Seminar schedule here [10].

The IndieLite seminar will include the following sessions:

Content Creation and Management (9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.): Are you providing your site visitors with content they want and expect? The IndieCommerce team will walk you through the steps for creating rich content pages and an attractive front page, as well as working with blocks and menus. Staff will share best practices and tips from members on using weekly/monthly checklists for content management.

Order Processing (10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.): Do you have questions about how your online sales work? In this session, IndieCommerce specialists will cover everything you need to know about order management, editing orders, communicating with customers, and reports. Staff will also discuss how your website interfaces with Ingram for Consumer Direct Fulfillment and how you can make the most of that feature.

Making the Most of Your IndieLite Website (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.): In this session, the IndieCommerce team will engage booksellers in a conversation about how to use your website as part of a larger marketing and social media strategy, tracking your web traffic using Google Analytics, and more.

Pre-registration is required for the IndieLite Seminar; register now [11]. Booksellers who are interested in attending the seminar are asked to sign up by the end of the day on Friday, December 27; if not enough signups are received, ABA reserves the right to cancel the seminar.
