Magnolia Pictures Invites Booksellers to Bring the Cinema to Their Stores [2]
- By Sydney Jarrard [3]
The American Booksellers Association is partnering with Magnolia Pictures to offer its virtual cinema program [4] to independent bookstore members.
Magnolia Pictures will set up a unique ticketing page for each participating bookstore (see an example here [5]); stores can share that page on their website, in their newsletters, and on social media. Thirty percent of all net sales that come through the dedicated ticketing page go straight to the participating bookstore. Prices vary by movie. There is no cost to bookstores to participate.
The following titles are available for online viewing now; booksellers can encourage customers to purchase the related title from their stores:
- I Am Not Your Negro [6] ($3.99)
- Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am [7] ($4.99)
- Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins [8] ($4.99)
- Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson [9] ($3.99)
