ABA Board of Directors Nomination Process Begins September 2 [3]

On Wednesday, September 2, the American Booksellers Association Board of Directors will begin seeking nominations (including self-nominations) for ABA member booksellers to join the board.

The requirements are:

  1. Candidates for the Board of Directors must be the owner or employee of an independent bookstore with a storefront location that is operated according to sound business principles.
  2. Board candidates must have at least three years of recent experience as an owner or employee of a member company.

To help booksellers understand the full scope of the election process, ABA has launched the “Board of Directors Elections [5]” page on BookWeb.org. The page can be found on the “About” dropdown menu.

The page includes the dates and deadlines for the 2020–2021 election; requirements to be nominated for a director position; and information about the petition process.
