Thirty booksellers will win the opportunity to visit with top New York authors during BookExpo America by entering the first ABFFE Author Auction. The online auction kicked off Wednesday, March 26, at 9:00 a.m. EST on the Web site of the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE), www.abffe.com [6]. The auction ends on Friday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m.

The auction winners will spend up to an hour and a half on May 4 or May 5 with either Judy Blume, Katie Davis, Claudia Dreifus, Pete Hamill, Ron Insana, Alan Katz, Leonard Marcus, Michael Moore, Chris Raschka, Roger Rosenblatt, Robert Sabuda, Jon Scieszka, Peter Sis, Vera B. The two highest bidders for each author will win. Each winner may bring two friends, which means that no more than six guests will be present during the meetings. The winners will receive five autographed copies of the author’s latest work. In addition, the highest bidder for each author will receive two tickets to see the New York Yankees play the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium on Friday, May 3.
