Network With Your Customers on IndieBound.org [3]

To help ABA member booksellers make the most of the social networking resources on IndieBound.org [4], [4] a tutorial specific to ABA members [5] has been posted on BookWeb. The tutorial covers community basics, such as:

  • Creating your personal account
  • Locating your store using the map or the site search
  • Fleshing out your store's profile with pictures, store info, and more
  • Encouraging your customers to become "fans" of your store

"Involvement with IndieBound.org should really be a no-brainer," said Rich Rennicks of Malaprop's [6]. "Social media is fast becoming one of the nation's most popular hobbies, and IndieBound.org is becoming one of the more interesting networks in cyberspace. So make your store's page cool: add images, tell some stories, get your customers signed up so they can brag on you, and pay it forward: Send some praise to stores you think are doing a great job. What goes around comes around!"

And with the holidays approaching, IndieBound.org will be adding some exciting book-related features to the community, as well as some innovative ways to promote your store. Watch next week's BTW for details! --Matt Supko [7]
