In celebration of its 80th birthday, Kirkus Reviews [4] is hosting a contest that adheres to its mission of promoting book discovery. Visitors to the Kirkus website [5] can enter the contest daily with just their name and e-mail address. Entries are being accepted until midnight on October 22, 2013, and the winner will be selected on October 23.

The contest winner will receive a literary tour of New York City, including two round-trip tickets to Manhattan; two nights’ stay at the Library Hotel [6]; two passes to the Greenwich Village Literary Pub Crawl [7]; gift certificates to several of the city’s indie bookstores, including Three Lives & Company [8], McNally Jackson [9], and Strand Book Store [10]; breakfast at the Algonquin Hotel round table; and dinner at Public in SoHo.

Booksellers are encouraged to promote the contest to their customers and are welcome to enter themselves.
