On Wednesday, June 17, at 3:00 p.m., publisher Lee & Low will host a webinar on “Planning a Successful Virtual Author Visit.” Booksellers can sign up now for the webinar [5].

While the webinar is geared toward library and school visits, the takeaways will be applicable to bookstores as well.

The webinar aims to take attendees step-by-step through the process of planning and executing a successful author visit, virtually or in person.

Attendees will come away with:

  • a timeline for planning and sources to explore for funding your author visit
  • a variety of strategies to prepare attendees for the author visit
  • tips on best practices for a successful virtual visit
  • a list of Lee & Low authors and illustrators who do school and library visits

Panelists Stephanie Bange, Lee & Low’s author visits coordinator; Dr. Christina Dorr, media specialist, Weaver Middle School, Hilliard, Ohio; and Traci Sorell, co-author of Indian No More (Lee & Low Books, 2019), will discuss how to select and schedule an author, find funding for the visit, prepare your attendees for the day, and execute a smooth visit.
