Winter Institute 2015

Congratulations to Larry Law of Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville, Illinois, the winner of the Winter Institute Design Contest!
Larry's design, incorporating landmarks and symbols from Winter Institute's past host cities, was chosen by ABA members from four fantastic finalists and will be featured on t-shirts to be sold (in limited quantities) at Winter Institute 2015.
All four designs are available for purchase now at RedBubble.com.
Thank you, everyone, for a fabulous Wi10! See you in Denver, January 23–26, 2016.
Registration for Wi11 opens September, 2015.

Booksellers, publishers, and authors are invited to scenic Asheville, North Carolina for the 10th anniversary of the ABA Winter Institute. This year features a lineup of new education topics and presentations; popular author receptions; unparalleled networking; marquee keynote speakers, including John Green, Steven Johnson, Sarah Lewis, and Azar Nafisi; an indie retail crawl in downtown Asheville; and parties at the Grove Park Inn. Guests can also enjoy local tours customized just for booksellers: the Asheville Historic Trolley Tour, the Biltmore Estate, and the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, as well as guided or self-guided tours of the Grove Park Inn.

Bookseller registration has reached capacity and the wait list is closed. The ABA Block at the Grove Park Inn is also filled. The offical overflow hotel is Renaissance Asheville Hotel, 31 Woodfin Street, Asheville.

To reserve a room at the Renaissance please use this link: http://cwp.marriott.com/avlbr/booksellers.

The rate is $129 plus tax per night, and is good until January 16 or the block fills, whichever occurs first. Daily shuttle bus service from the Renaissance to the Grove Park Inn will be provided by ABA.

A Grove Park Inn room sharing forum for ABA members is also available.

Plan Your Schedule

As with many mountain towns, direct flights into Asheville are limited, so to help out booksellers from across the country, Southern indies will be hosting travelers through the Southern Hospitality Overnight Program (SHOP), developed by the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance. Come to the region and bunk with a SHOP host, and carpool to and from Asheville. See the SIBA website for details. For additional travel information visit the Wi10 travel page.

The Winter Institute is made possible by support from lead sponsor
Ingram Content Group, and from publishers large and small.

Want to open a bookstore? There's a one-day conference in Asheville for you, too.
