New Features For IndieCommerce 1.0 Stores Yes, there is a huge amount of work going on with the new IndieCommerce 2.0 platform, but we’re also rolling out 4 new features for stores on IndieCommerce 1.0. These new features will help you with your 4th quarter, online holiday shoppers. - USPS - Realtime shipping quotes - If you have an USPS account for your store, you can integrate your IndieCommerce website with your USPS account to retrieve shipping quotes in real time when customers go through checkout on your site. This integration will add these 3 new shipping rates to your website - Priority Mail, Express Mail, and Media Mail through USPS. By connecting directly to USPS Webtools, the quotes for these rates will be based on product weights and will adjust based on the total weight of the package. For more information click here.
- Actual Shipping Cost - For each order on your IndieCommerce website, your store can now record the actual shipping cost vs what the customer was charged. This is available as a field to be included in any view. It is listed under ‘Order’, Order : Actual Shipping Amount.
- Ship As Available - When a customer places an order for multiple books, it is possible that all books in the order are not available to ship together. One book could be a back ordered title, or could be a preorder etc. The customer may be willing to pay extra to have the books shipped as they become available and that is possible with this ‘Ship As Available’ feature. Stores can charge an additional amount per item in the order if the customer selected ‘Ship As Available’ during checkout. For more information click here.
- Biblio Integration With IndieCommerce 1.0 - If you currently sell used books on Bibio.com, now you can offer those titles for sale on your IndieCommerce 1.0 website as well. Your used books on Biblio will appear as an additional purchase option when a customer views a new book on your IndieCommerce website. If you have a dealer ID with Biblio.com and would like to try this feature, please email [email protected]
