Booksellers Share Display Ideas on Pinterest [6]

Booksellers are encouraged to check out two new Pinterest boards now available as a community photo-sharing space for store display ideas.

The two Pinterest boards have gained plenty of followers — more than 150 for each board — and booksellers are encouraged to join in the creative pursuit and start sharing pictures of imaginative, resourceful, and crafty bookstore displays. Check out:

Managed by Gary Robson of Red Lodge Books & Tea [10] in Red Lodge, Montana, the Pinterest boards are a great opportunity to create a community resource for booksellers to share and discover new ideas for showcasing books and sidelines in a variety of different ways — from featuring seasonal or holiday window displays to highlighting Banned Books Week titles and picks from local authors and illustrators.

To share pictures and ideas on the Creative Bookstore Windows [8] or Effective Bookstore Displays [9] pages, visit the page, follow the board (sign up for Pinterest [11] via a Facebook account or an e-mail address) and leave a comment on the board or on Robson’s blog post [12] to be authorized to pin to the boards. These pages are open to ABA members and non-members alike.

For more information, check out Robson’s blog post [13] documenting the project, and visit Creative Bookstore Windows [8] or Effective Bookstore Displays [9] to see what fellow booksellers are putting together in their stores.
