Children’s Institute will take place next week, from Monday, August 30, to Wednesday, September 1. Just a few of the program highlights include:

The Ci9 Expo, where attendees can meet virtually with Ci9 lead sponsor Ingram, BIPOC small presses, as well as publishers, wholesalers and business partners. Be sure to check out two vendors new to Children’s Institute: Buyolympia, which distributes and publishes goods from a variety of artists, and educational games company DJECO.
A BIPOC Bookseller Meetup and an LGBTQIA+ Bookseller Meetup. Ci9 registration is not required to attend.
Authors on Parade, where guest authors will share their upcoming books with attendees.

All proceeds go directly to Binc, which helps booksellers and comic sellers with unforeseen financial emergencies.

Fall is near, and with that comes the return of ABA's “October is the new December” holiday shopping campaign, which encourages customers to shop early and shop local. Given national supply chain and related logistical issues, messaging this to your customers is even more important than last year. Refreshed marketing assets for this campaign and “Shop Early, Shop Local” are available now. ABA has also provided recommended corresponding text for newsletters and social media.
