Sign Up for ABA’s November 21 Marketing Meetup: “Marketing With Eventbrite” [4]

ABA MeetupsOn Thursday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. ET, ABA will present “Marketing With Eventbrite,” the last of ABA's Marketing Meetups for 2019; the schedule will resume in January 2020.

This upcoming session focuses on how booksellers can use the event management and ticketing website Eventbrite [6]. In this session, a representative will teach attendees about the service, and then three booksellers from ABA member stores will discuss how they use it to promote and market their events.

Eventbrite, [7] which is also an ABA business service partner, allows event-holders to set up an event page quickly, offer multiple ticket options, and learn more about their ticket-buying community with customized questions. In addition, event-goers can purchase tickets directly on stores’ websites and social media pages. Booksellers who have an existing account with Eventbrite can migrate to the new members-only program to take advantage of lower rates and enhanced customer support and training.

Guest speakers at the November 21 meetup will include Jorge Portillo of Eventbrite; John Ganiard of Literati Bookstore [8]; Vincent Onorati of Word Bookstore [9]; and Jill Hendrix of Fiction Addiction [10].

The American Booksellers Association offers two opportunities for live online education [11]: a twice-monthly Marketing Meetup and a monthly Technology Meetup. All member booksellers are invited to participate in these online discussions; subscribe to the Meetup mailing list here [11] to receive invitations and to learn about how to sign up for the Technology Meetups, Marketing Meetups, or both.
