The
ABA Town Hall provides booksellers with the opportunity to express
opinions and share ideas with the Board and staff in an informal
setting. To provide an opportunity for as many members as possible to
speak during the Town Hall, a sign-up sheet will be displayed in the ABA
Member Lounge.
All ABA members are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting which
directly folllows the Town Hall. The Annual Meeting features reports
from the Board of Directors and executive staff on the association’s
activities over the past year, as well as updates on new and ongoing
initiatives.
The ABA Member Lounge will be closed during both the Town Hall and Annual Meeting, and will re-open at 4:15 pm until 6 pm.
The American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.
