Bookstore Assistant Manager
Large independent children’s bookstore (Books of Wonder, NYC) is looking for bright, articulate, cheerful, courteous book lovers with extensive knowledge of children’s books and an eagerness to share it with others to join our store’s management team with a focus on overseeing the smooth operation of our store, including our many live and virtual author and artist events.
As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:
The successful candidate will be well-versed in children’s books; familiar with basic office software and internet functions; able to keyboard/type at least 45 wpm; excellent at organization and multi-tasking; an effective communicator and leader; polite and graceful under pressure; and able to maintain a smile no matter what is going on.
Preference will be given to those with bookstore or other retail management experience.
