We recommend keeping your camera on during Breakout Discussions and Idea Exchanges; your colleagues want to see you!
Many people will be joining from their home or store; background activity is to be expected, but do what you can to keep it tidy and to a minimum so fellow attendees don’t get distracted. (Keeping yourself on camera is more important than anything!)
Mute yourself to avoid interrupting the event and to prevent audio feedback.
Take advantage of the chat feature to talk with colleagues.
When speaking or in the chat, be sure to share your store name!
Sessions have to start on time; join promptly so you don’t miss anything.
If you have to leave a session or room, feel free to exit without comment.
Pets are always welcome to make appearances! But we ask you to please leave your meals until breaks.
The American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.
