One Day. Fifty States. Hundreds Of Bookstores. Join The Celebration!

This national one-day party held the last Saturday in April celebrates independent bookstores across the country online and in-store. Through exclusive books and literary items, contests, cupcakes, and everything in between, it’s a party you don’t want to miss!

Booksellers, sign-up to receive email communication about preparing for Independent Bookstore Day through the Email Subscriptions tab on your Member Dashboard.

How to Participate

 

1. Be an ABA Member

This event is for booksellers who belong to the American Booksellers Association and their regional independent booksellers association. Find regional contact information at the bottom of the membership page.

 

2. Sign Up

To purchase the event exclusives, sign up January 14–February 4. Only orders of 15 or more individually or bulk packaged items will receive free shipping AND freebies (like bookmarks, zines, and stickers). To receive only marketing materials and to be included on the searchable map, sign up February 5–February 28.

 

3. Celebrate on Independent Bookstore Day

Plan an in-store or online celebration for April 30. See below for resources on celebrating Independent Bookstore Day.
