NOTE: ALL bookstores that want to receive a Banned Books Week Kit MUST complete this form. Bookstores that signed up for a kit last year will NOT automatically receive a 2026 kit. If you have multiple locations and would like to receive more than one kit, you will need to request a kit per location through the "Company Locations" tab on the Member Dashboard.
American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) is asking bookstores to opt-in if they wish to receive a Banned Books Week kit for Banned Books Week 2026, which will be held October 4 - 10, 2026. Banned Books Week kits are sent annually to participating stores and include materials to decorate displays and educate customers about the freedom to read.
Supplies are limited and will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. Kits will be sent to your store separately or as part of another mailing. Please let staff know to be on the lookout for the kit in August.
Just fill out the form below to receive a Banned Books Week kit, which will be automatically populated using your ABA ID. We ask that each bookstore branch fill out their own form. To fill out a form for a branch, a member of the branch store must log in and submit this form. If you do not know who has login credentials at your branch, email [email protected] for assistance.
International bookstores are not eligible to receive kits. Online-only stores, please fill out the form only if you do pop-up events. The deadline to complete this form is June 25, 2026.
Banned Books Week 2026 Theme
The stark, 2026 campaign focuses on calling censorship what it is and not shying away from the precipitous increase in book bans nationwide. We combine this with some more playful, indie-exclusive assets and a poster featuring the 2026 Banned Books Week Coalition theme, "Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.” Additional downloadable and printable assets will be available closer to Banned Books Week.
