That Bookstore’s Shipley to Run for House Seat

On Monday, Mary Gay Shipley, owner of That Bookstore in Blytheville, announced that she will run for the District 55 seat in the Arkansas House, reported ArkansasBusiness.com.

Shipley said she will run as a Democrat, and the decision to run was prompted by supporters who urged her on, after discovering that she was selling her store.

San Fran Indies Unite to Celebrate Books and Chocolate

February 26 marked the San Francisco Bookstore and Chocolate Crawl, a day created for locals to explore the city's bookstores while enjoying chocolate provided by several local gourmet companies.

The event began at noon at Green Apple Books, and continued until 6:00 p.m. Participating stores included The Booksmith, Books Inc., Adobe Books, Forest Books, Borderlands Books, Dog-Eared Books, and Modern Times Bookstore.

Bookstore-Juice Shop to Open in Tarrytown

A store offering juice and books is slated to open in Tarrytown, New York, home of the American Booksellers Association.

The Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Patch published a photo of a sign posted in a vacant Main Street storefront. Believe Juice & Books promises to “fuel the body, inspire the mind.” BTW will be watching this one closely.
