BTW on Holiday: Indie Bestseller Lists as Usual, Stores Urged to Report

Bookselling This Week will be on hiatus next week and will return on Thursday, January 8, 2015. The Indie Bestseller Lists will be produced and e-mailed to booksellers as usual on Tuesday, December 30. Reporting deadlines remain unchanged.

The American Booksellers Association urges all stores to report to the Indie Bestseller Lists during this busiest of seasons to demonstrate the power of independents. The aggregated Bestseller reports provide hard data that reinforces to publishers and other industry stakeholders the key role of independent bookstores to a healthy book industry.

And here’s a reminder that the 2014 Indie Bestseller Lists, featuring the year’s top-selling titles at hundreds of independent bookstores nationwide, are now available in PDF, DOC, and HTML formats. Each list is a great resource for shoppers looking for post-holiday reads.

The 2014 Indie Bestseller Lists, featuring the year’s top-selling titles at hundreds of independent bookstores nationwide, are now available in PDF, DOC, and HTML formats. The year-end lists include the 15 bestselling titles in both Hardcover and Trade Paper Fiction and Nonfiction and the top 10 titles in the categories of Children’s Interest, Illustrated, and Fiction Series.

Each list is a great resource for holiday shoppers searching for gifts and for returning customers looking for post-holiday reads. Booksellers are encouraged to feature the lists in print and electronic newsletters and to download and reproduce the full-color fliers for use on displays and as bag stuffers and handouts.
