New Hampshire Governor Vetoes Book Ban Bill
ABFE applauds New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte for vetoing the misguided and unpopular book ban bill, HB 324, which was narrowly passed by the legislature earlier this year.
We would also like to thank Michael Herrmann of Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord for his op-ed, as well as ACLU New Hampshire, Authors Against Book Bans New Hampshire, EveryLibrary, Moms Rising New Hampshire, and Penguin Random House for their leadership. And a special thank you to every librarian, parent, student, and bookseller in the state who raised their voices against this bill.
For details and quotes from the coalition, see Moms Rising New Hampshire’s statement.
