Here is the Indie Romance Bestseller List based on sales at independent bookstores nationwide for the eight-week period ending August 17, 2025. 

This year marks ABA’s 125th year of helping indie bookstores thrive. As part of our 125th anniversary celebration, we’ll be sharing interviews with key figures in the industry and exploring how the organization has changed since its inception in 1900.

This month, Project Manager Pete Reynolds celebrates his 33rd year at ABA!

Reynolds sat down with Bookselling This Week to discuss some of the ways ABA has changed during his time at the organization. 

Here is a preview of the titles on the September/October 2025 Kids’ Indie Next List flier, arriving at stores in the upcoming Kids’ Box mailing.

“As someone who doesn't read a lot of middle-grade, I was absolutely surprised by how much I liked The Ginghams. From the first few chapters, I knew this was something special,” said Ashli Byfield of Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, New York.

Here is the Indie Mystery/Thriller Bestseller List based on sales at independent bookstores nationwide for the eight-week period ending August 3, 2025. 

“If this novel had been written a century ago, it would be a classic today. A brilliantly written story of a claustrophobic English village in the eighteenth century, and the violence that nips at the ankles of young women when people see them as ‘other,’ ” said Marisa Spence of Ballast Book Company in Bremerton, Washington.
