The ABC/CBC Illustrator Studio Tours in Photos

Once again this year, booksellers from ABC Children’s Group member stores took advantage of the unique opportunity to tour children’s illustrators’ studios in Manhattan and Brooklyn during BookExpo America.
Organized by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA and the Children’s Book Council, the tours gave groups of four to six booksellers a behind-the-scenes peek into the creative lives of some of today’s top talent. The event, on Wednesday, May 28, began with a reception at The Czech Center at the Bohemian National Hall, where acclaimed author and artist Peter Sís greeted booksellers and shared an exhibit of his artwork, including illustrations from his May 2014 title, The Pilot and the Little Prince (Farrar, Straus and Giroux Books for Young Readers).
