Book Sense Audio Series Adds Three New Titles

Special Promotion on Original 10 Titles Available at BEA

Stores with Book Sense can now order three new titles in the Book Sense Audio Series, a joint effort between Recorded Books, LLC, and the American Booksellers Association. The titles, available in CD format only, are The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Frankenstein, and The Scarlet Letter. The series of unabridged audiobooks bearing the licensed Book Sense name are available exclusively to ABA member stores. The three new titles will be ready to ship starting June 10.

"Recorded Books and Book Sense are pleased to announce the addition of three new titles, in CD format, to the successful, Book Sense Audio series," said Grace Ridgeway, retail sales director for Recorded Books. "Strong titles, award-winning narrators, and competitive pricing combined with the support of the independent book stores and Book Sense have made the Book Sense Audio series in cassette quite successful."

The bestselling classics are recorded by Recorded Books critically acclaimed narrators. The packaging has been designed specifically for Book Sense, and each book begins and ends with a promotional message designed to encourage customers to return to the store for additional titles in the program. Each CD is $11, with a retail price of $24.99 each. Titles are available under special terms -- net 60, and free shipping on case quantities of 12 books or more.

At BookExpo America (BEA), Recorded Books is offering a special promotion on the original 10 Book Sense Audio Series cassettes, which will be available for $7 each, instead of the usual $9. The initial 10 titles in the series are The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Odyssey, The Iliad, Call of the Wild/White Fang, Bee Season, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, 1984/Animal Farm, A Tale of Two Cities, The Great Gatsby, and Pride and Prejudice.
