E-commerce Update: #BoxedOut Campaign Drives Online Sales & Traffic

Here, the IndieCommerce team shares an important look at current trends in the world of e-commerce.


Following the rollout of the American Booksellers Association’s #BoxedOut campaign last Tuesday, the e-commerce conversion rate increased to 5.36 percent for the week. That increase, along with a 9.63 percent increase in traffic during the same period, resulted in an average increase in revenue of 26.13 percent for the week ending October 20.

The increase in traffic, the e-commerce conversion rate, and the subsequent increase in revenue following the launch of the #BoxedOut campaign would seem to indicate that the campaign is having a positive effect on online sales.
