Idea Exchange This Week

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Every week dozens of booksellers seek and share advice and information about bookselling and the book industry on BookWeb's Idea Exchange Forums. Here, BTW presents a look at some of this week's topics -- with the hope that more booksellers will join in.

Among the topics that booksellers are discussing in the Bookseller-to-Bookseller Forum this week are:

  • Whether to carry true crime books;
  • Attracting customers during the non-tourist season; and
  • Ideas for bringing in customers.

In the Ask ABA Forum, there's an inquiry about last week's BTW article on Music Licensing, and in the Inventory Control Systems forum, a bookseller has a question about POS/inventory systems for a Mac computer.

Booksellers visiting BookWeb's Idea Exchange are reminded that there is a new Education Forum, which is designed to provide ABA member booksellers with an opportunity to learn and share thoughts and experiences, ask questions, and offer suggestions and tips on the material presented in ABA's various education programs, including "The 2% Solution." This forum is intended for bookseller-to-bookseller interaction, though ABA staff will moderate the postings and respond to questions when appropriate.

The Idea Exchange Forums are open to ABA bookstore and provisional members only. (Booksellers who do not already have a BookWeb Account will need to create one.)
