Mystic River Next USA Today Book Club Pick

On Thursday, September 18, USA Today announced the selection of Mystic River by Dennis Lehane (Avon/Dark Alley/HarperAudio) as its next book club title.

Mystic River, a favorite of independent booksellers, appeared on the Summer 2002 Paperback Book Sense 76. In her recommendation of Mystic River for inclusion on the 76 list, Barbara Peters of The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, Arizona, said, "Lehane has forged an urban crime novel of surpassing darkness, but it also has the legs to stand as a fiction of its time and place like, say, Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. It’s truly an amazing work. Don't miss it."
