PW Announces Shortlists for Bookstore, Rep of the Year Awards

On Monday, Publishers Weekly released the shortlists for its 2015 PW Bookstore and Sales Rep of the Year Awards. PW said that this year’s finalists for Bookstore of the Year “represent a broad range of general independent bookstores from across the West, Midwest, and South.” Among the five finalists for Rep of the Year are two reps each from Penguin and HarperCollins and one from the independent rep group Fujii Associates.

“We were pleased to have so many outstanding candidates to choose from for the 2015 PW Awards. Each of the stores and sales reps on the shortlist has come up with new strategies for successfully negotiating today’s retail landscape for books,” said Publishers Weekly Vice President and Publisher Cevin Bryerman.

This year’s finalists are:

• Left Bank Books (St. Louis, Missouri)
• McLean & Eakin Booksellers (Petoskey, Michigan)
• Powell’s Books (Portland, Oregon)
• Village Books (Bellingham, Washington)

PW Sales Representative of the Year Shortlist

• Erik Heidemann (Fujii Associates)
• Sheila Hennessey (Penguin)
• Doni Kay (Penguin)
• Veronica (“Bernie”) Moran (HarperCollins)
• Jennifer Sheridan (HarperCollins)

The award winners will be announced at the beginning of April and will be featured in the May 4 edition of Publishers Weekly. The awards will be presented at the Book & Author Breakfast at BookExpo America.
