Booksellers attending the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association Trade Show, from Friday, October 17, to Saturday, October 18, at North Hollywood’s Beverly Garland Hotel, will find a full schedule of author events and educational programming. Among the special event highlights are the Children’s Author Breakfast, Adult Author Lunch, Rep Picks sessions, and opening and closing cocktail parties. Educational programming includes two new sessions from ABA: “The Nuts and Bolts of Finance” and “Making the Most of Indies First on Small Business Saturday.”

ABA will also be on the show floor during exhibit hours and booksellers are encouraged to stop by to learn about new fall programs and February’s 10th anniversary celebration of the Winter Institute. In addition, members who leave a business card at the booth will earn an extra chance to win a scholarship to the Winter Institute and/or April’s ABC Children’s Institute.

ABA is also offering a show special for non-members at all of this fall’s regional events. Stores that have not been ABA members for the past two years can join at the shows and enjoy all the benefits of membership for free until February 15, 2015.

Attending the SCIBA show will be ABA CEO Oren Teicher and Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger. Booksellers are encouraged to visit Booth 33 on the exhibit floor to learn about ABA’s upcoming educational events, fall programs, and more.
