Title Recommendations Sought for ABC “Best Books” Catalog
The ABC Children’s Group at ABA is inviting all member booksellers to submit title recommendations for its newly renamed catalog. Based on input from the ABC Advisory Council, the annual catalog previously known as “ABC Best Books for Children (and Teens Too!)” is being renamed “ABC Best Books for Young Readers” to widen its appeal to customers of all ages.
Not changing is what makes the catalog so special: title recommendations curated by children's booksellers at indie bookstores.
This year, there are two ways for booksellers to submit title recommendations:
- Via an online form on BookWeb.org
- Through Edelweiss (Recommendations and submissions for the Indie Next List will also be considered for the ABC catalog.)
The deadline to submit title recommendations is Tuesday, June 30; however, accommodation will be made for last-minute additions discovered by booksellers later in the summer.
The “ABC Best Books for Young Readers” catalog is scheduled to reach stores in early October. Featured titles will be predominately frontlist published between January and October 2015. The catalog will not include holiday books so that it will remain useful year-round.
This year’s catalog cover art will be unveiled following BookExpo America, and the catalog title list will be available to stores at the end of the summer.
A catalog order form will be available later this summer.
Questions about the catalog should be addressed to ABC Children’s Group Manager Matthew Zoni.
