Two Quick Reminders

Here are two quick reminders about current Book Sense promotions:

• Hardcover History, the monthly in-store promotion that pairs special History Channel shows with suggested reading, will take a hiatus for the month of January. There are no bookmarks in the December White Box mailing, but booksellers should be on the lookout for some new and exciting Hardcover History materials, which will tie into February programming on The History Channel, in the January White Box.

• The Lord of the Rings The Final Journey Sweepstakes, which began on Monday, November 3, will end on Monday, December 15, but it's not too late for booksellers to set up their point-of-sale displays with a "take-one" map of Tolkien's Middle-Earth so their customers have a chance to find clues to the answers to trivia questions found on the sweepstakes entry page on the BookSense.com Web site.

Consumers have a chance to win the Grand Prize package, consisting of luggage and travel supplies, books, DVDs, video games, and movie memorabilia. First and Second prizes are J.R.R. Tolkien books and Lord of the Rings movie merchandise.
