Jon Scieszka Named National Ambassador for Young People's Literature

The Library of Congress has named Jon Scieszka (The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, Viking) as the first National Ambassador for Young People's Literature. The appointment is for a two-year term. As National Ambassador, Scieszka will encourage the appreciation of young people's literature throughout the U.S. through both personal and media appearances.

New card to celebrate Ann M. Martin's Main Street Series coming soon

The popular Mary Engelbreit design "A Book Is a Present You Can Open Again and Again" is now available on Book Sense gift cards and presenters. The design also continues to be featured on a traditional paper card that can be used as either a gift certificate or as a greeting card, with space for a gift card.

This past weekend, several ABA staff members joined front-line booksellers at celebrations marking the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
