2014 ABC Best Books for Children Catalog Cover Unveiled

Last-minute title recommendations welcome

The 2014 ABC Best Books for Children Catalog cover will feature art from A Library Book for Bear, written by Bonny Becker and illustrated by Kady Macdonald Denton, to be published next month by Candlewick Press. The cover art was chosen by the ABC Advisory Council from publisher submissions. The announcement was made on Friday by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA.

This year’s catalog will feature more than 200 fully vetted titles for children and teens, recommended by ABC Group member booksellers. Though the nomination deadline was July 1, booksellers who have last-minute title recommendations are encouraged to send them via the catalog’s online submission form through the Fourth of July weekend. Nominations are still needed for early readers and middle grade titles, as well as board books and activity books, publishing between January and October 2014.

The 2014 catalog is scheduled to land in stores in early October. A catalog order form will be available to ABA member stores in July. All members of the ABC Children’s Group at ABA will automatically receive 250 catalogs with no imprinting. All other ABA member stores will automatically receive 20 catalogs with no imprinting.
