Forty booksellers have been named the recipients of scholarships to the April 19 – 21 ABC Children’s Institute (Ci3), to be held in Pasadena, California. Among the scholarships are nine supported by Baker & Taylor, the event’s lead sponsor, and three from the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc), a non-profit dedicated to providing financial assistance to booksellers since 1996.

“The American Booksellers Association extends its sincere thanks to all of the Children’s Institute’s sponsors who, by their ongoing support, recognize the importance of independent booksellers in fostering a love of reading among children and in ensuring a diversity of titles is available in communities nationwide,” said Senior Program Officer Joy Dallanegra-Sanger.

Each Children’s Institute scholarship covers airfare or ground transportation up to $400, a two-night stay at the host hotel, the Pasadena Hilton, and the institute conference fee.
