ABFFE to Host Children’s Art Auction at Winter Institute

The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) will be conducting a silent auction of children’s book art at Winter Institute 2014. More than 30 works by leading artists will be auctioned in conjunction with the Author Reception on Thursday evening, January 23. The auction will include pieces by Ruth Lercher Bornstein, Ricardo Cortes, David McPhail, Tracey Campbell Pearson, Beth Peck, and Adam Rex.

The Silent Auction will be held from from 6:00 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. in the lobby outside the Westin Seattle’s Grand Ballroom, where the popular Author Reception will be taking place.

More than a dozen works will be sold in a raffle during the auction. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and $20 for five.

Proceeds from the auction support ABFFE, the Kids’ Right to Read Project, and Banned Books Week.
