With a snowstorm predicted to hit parts of the East Coast beginning mid-day Friday, there is a strong possibility that flights from the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions will be disrupted. Some airlines are waiving change fees in anticipation of what is being called Winter Storm Jonas. Winter Institute attendees who were planning to fly to Denver from the East Coast on Saturday are encouraged to check with their carriers to see if they can move up their flights to Friday; some carriers are already waiving change fees, but flights will likely fill up quickly.

Registrants currently checking into the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel on Saturday who now intend to arrive on Friday should call the hotel directly as soon as possible at (303) 893-3333 and press 1 to extend their reservations. Guests in the ABA block with a Saturday check-in will be able to extend their stay at the ABA rate to start on Friday by calling that number.

In other travel news: The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel has alerted the American Booksellers Association to the fact that it has instituted a new check-in process utilizing chip and pin credit cards and that some cards may require pin numbers. If you are not certain if your card requires a pin, to expedite the hotel check-in process it is suggested that you check with your credit card company in advance of traveling to Denver.
