Today, the American Booksellers Association announces the winners of the 2015 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards, as voted by independent booksellers nationwide.

Lance Rubin is the author of Denton Little’s Deathdate, a Spring 2015 Indies Introduce novel for young adults. Cristin Stickles of McNally Jackson Books called the debut “a truly original and fantastic conceit.”

The last day for booksellers to have a say in choosing this year’s winners of the Indies Choice and E.B. White Read-Aloud awards is Tuesday, April 14.

Tommy Wallach is the author of We All Looked Up, a Spring 2015 Indies Introduce debut young adult novel. The story is “a twist on the apocalyptic novel,” said Sarah Chen of Mysterious Galaxy, and filled with “gorgeous writing that evokes emotion and depth.”

Based on sales at independent bookstores nationwide for the eight-week period ending April 5, 2015.

Debut novelist Aline Ohanesian discusses growing up in a family where both sets of grandparents were Armenian Genocide survivors; how it feels to find success so early in her writing career; and the two mysterious sentences that sparked her imagination to begin writing Orhan’s Inheritance.

Booksellers at all ABA member stores are invited to cast their ballots to choose the winners of the 2015 Indies Choice and E.B. White Read-Aloud awards. Up to three booksellers per member store can make a reservation for the Celebration of Bookselling Lunch.

The next edition of the free Digital White Box from NetGalley features digital galleys of a new children’s book from Kat Spears, new fiction from Indie Next author Lauren Willig, and much more.

Here are the titles on the May Indie Next List flier, on its way to ABA member stores in the IndieBound movement. A downloadable PDF version of the list will also be available beginning May 1 on BookWeb.org and IndieBound.org.

Up to three booksellers per ABA member store can now book their reservations for ABA’s 2015 Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Lunch, to be held on Thursday, May 28, at BEA.

With the announcement today of the finalists for the 2015 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards, booksellers at American Booksellers Association member stores across the country will begin voting to choose the winners in eight categories.

Nina MacLaughlin is the author of the Spring 2015 Indies Introduce adult nonfiction title Hammer Head: The Making of a Carpenter, which Carol Schneck Varner of Schuler Books & Music called “an absolutely fascinating memoir.”
