A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Pasadena for April 18, 2015 - April 22, 2015. The special ABA room rate of $139 will be available until March 27th or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first. Hotel accommodations are reserved for Children’s Institute attendees only and are booked directly by attendees with the hotel.

LAT FESTIVAL OF BOOKS

The 2015 Children's Institute immediately follows the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, being held on April 18 and 19 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  ABA has arranged for a central meeting place for booksellers and luggage storage for Ci3 attendees in Board Room 201 on the second floor of the Radisson Hotel on the USC campus.

TRAVEL DISCOUNTS

Train
Amtrak
offers a 10% discount off the best available rail fare to Pasadena, CA from April 16, 2015 to April 24, 2015. To book your reservation call Amtrak at 1 (800) 872-7245 or contact your local travel agent. Fares cannot be booked via Internet. Please be sure to refer to Convention Fare Code X63V-922 when making your reservation. 

This offer is not valid on the Auto Train and Acela Service. Fare is valid on Amtrak Regional for all departures seven days a week, except for holiday blackouts. Offer valid with Sleepers, Business Class or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges.

Air
Delta Airlines is offering Children's Institute attendees a discount for travel from April 12, 2015 to April 28, 2015. Refer to code NMKRK to purchase your tickets and the negotiated discount may be applied. Discounts are valid only on DL and applicable DL Codeshare flights to LAX or Burbank/Ontario airports, and vary by the Delta booking class.

 

Reservations and ticketing are available via www.delta.com or by calling Delta Meeting Network Reservations at 800-328-1111. Please note that a Direct Ticketing Charge will apply for booking by phone. When booking online, select Book A Trip, click on Advanced Search and enter the meeting code in the box provided on the Search Flights page. Discounts applicable to U.S./ Canada originating passengers. Not valid with other discounts, certificates, coupons or promotional offers. Not all fares are eligible for use with this contract. Fare rules will determine eligibility.

Burbank Airport is much easier to get in and out of than LAX and is only 20-40 minutes from Pasadena, depending on traffic. (LAX is anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and a half from Pasadena, depending on traffic.)
