At next month’s Winter Institute, booksellers will have the chance to have in-depth discussions about bookstore finances and operations using data from the most recent ABACUS survey.

Katherine Hannigan and Luis Alberto Urrea, authors whose earlier work has been highlighted in the Indie Next List’s new Revisit & Rediscover feature, will make appearances at the first-ever Backlist Book Swap at Winter Institute.

Booksellers will have the chance to meet Scholastic authors and illustrators and enjoy drinks and dessert at the publisher’s Meet & Treat After Party at Winter Institute 2016.

For the first-ever Backlist Book Swap at the Winter Institute, booksellers and publishers are asked to bring a copy of their backlist favorite to swap with a colleague, and to share that title now via a form on BookWeb.

A Wi11 education session led by Total Computing Solutions’ Jim Hammons will review data security and PCI compliance standards to show booksellers how they can better protect their customers’ credit card data and their own businesses from liability.

Reservations are also still open to booksellers, publishers, and their families and friends for the Après Institute Ski Trip to the Copper Mountain resort.

A limited number of reservations are still available to booksellers and international guests for the January 23rd half-day tour of Denver-area bookstores; there is also space on the Après Institute Ski Trip on January 27 for booksellers, publishers, and their families and friends.

Owners and managers who are interested in attending any of Winter Institute 2016’’s four Advanced Learning Education sessions must register by Monday, December 7.
