Children's Institute 2019 ("the Institute") is a professional development event for bookseller members of the American Booksellers Association and sponsors of the Institute. The Institute is not a public event; all attendees must be registered prior to the start of the event. For questions about registration, e-mail childrensinstitute@bookweb.org.
All registrations are subject to size limitations; signups are first come, first served. Schedule is subject to change.
Cancellation policy: Refunds will be given for cancellation requests received by 9:00 pm ET on May 1, 2019. Thereafter, there will be no refunds except if ABA cancels the event for any reason. All cancellation requests should be e-mailed to cancellation@bookweb.org.
As part of ABA's commitment to going green, the DoubleTree will offer recyclable products during breaks and meal functions, and Ci7 attendees are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles.
The American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.
