Take your store out on the road with a pop-up shop. Whether you’re popping up for a book fair, farmer’s market, or off-site event, the ability to be mobile can increase sales and expand a store’s reach by introducing its brand to new customers in unexpected places. A panel of booksellers who have the pop-up know-how will share the ins and outs of managing staff, cash flow, and inventory planning and maintenance, and offer tips they wish they’d known before heading out of the store.
The American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.
