Bi-Monthly Box Mailing Rate Card

The Bi-Monthly Box Mailing is shipped within the first half of the designated month to approximately 750 ABA member stores. The mailing is prioritized, based on the level of a store’s participation in ABA programs. The minimum quantity for inclusion in any mailing is 450 pieces. There are additional charges for the insertion of any bounceback cards, letters, or any other collation done in our warehouse.When planning promotions, publishers are asked to be aware of our commitment to antiracism, inclusion, representation, and diversity as outlined in our ends policies.

Standard pricing for inclusion in all 750 Monthly Boxes THROUGH DECEMBER 2021:
A sell sheet or flyer $230; $.35 per piece for quantities less than 750
A standard (4” x 6”) postcard $132; $.21 per piece for quantities less than 750
A large-format postcard $158; $.25 per piece for quantities less than 750
Shelftalker $135; $.22 per piece for quantities less than 750
Easelback poster $550 and up, dependent on size; minimum $.70 per piece for quantities less than 750
Standard poster, flat or folded $370 and up, dependent on size; minimum $.60 per piece for quantities less than 750
Pack of 25 bookmarks $475, other quantities custom quoted

Easelback poster $605 and up, dependent on size; minimum $.77 per piece for quantities less than 750

Pack of 25 bookmarks $523; $.70 per piece for quantities less than 750

For galleys and ARCs, cost of inclusion is dependent on size and weight. Standard pricing typically ranges from $1.80 to $2.75 per piece. Upon receipt of the dimensions and number of pages, we are happy to provide a custom quote for any proposed inclusion.

There is an additional charge for the insertion of any bounceback cards, letters, or any other collation done in our warehouse. Charges for collation will be custom quoted.

Kids' Box Rate Card

Four times a year, a box is sent to each of the approximately 750 stores, including members of the ABC Children’s Group and general stores with active children’s sections. By collating, packing and shipping all these materials from one warehouse, we are able to offer publishers substantial savings in time, labor, and postage over individual mailings done on their own.

Advance Access Rates

The standard, non-member fee for listing titles in Advance Access is $175 per title. There is no fee for Associate Member publishers and their distribution clients. Members of The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), The Association of Publishers for Special Sales (APSS), or the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP), may participate at the reduced rate of $100 per title. Please contact Peter Reynolds at peter@bookweb.org to schedule listings, and Ana Gonzalez at ana@bookweb.org to  arrange payment. .

Self-published authors are able to participate in Advance Access for the fee of $175 per title, provided that the title will be readily available for booksellers to order from wholesalers. ABA reserves the right to review all titles submitted for Advance Access, and will not include titles with limited availability. Self-published authors, please provide the name(s) of the wholesaler(s) the book is distributed by.

Indie Next List Suggested Rate Card 2021

The Indie Next List is published monthly with twelve issues per year.

#1 Title
Includes cover placement in paper; author interview in electronic

Top 25 Titles (other than #1 title)
Includes printing and distribution costs for fliers and production and distribution costs of the electronic version.

“Now in Paperback” (6 titles per month)
Featuring books that that were previously INL picks in hardcover and appear with original bookseller quote
