ABA Seeks Nominations for Board of Directors

The American Booksellers Association’s Nominating Committee, chaired by John Evans of DIESEL, A Bookstore in Los Angeles, Malibu, and Oakland, California, is searching for qualified candidates to serve on the ABA Board of Directors. Board members are elected for a three-year term and are eligible to run for a second three-year term.

A candidate for the Board of Directors must be an ABA member who is the owner or employee of an independent bookstore with a storefront location that is operated according to sound business principles. In addition, a candidate must have at least three years of recent experience as the owner or employee of a member company. It is desirable that nominees have at least two years of experience as an active volunteer in ABA and/or in a regional association or other constituency organization. Complete qualifications are outlined in the “ABA Nomination and Election Guidelines.

Any ABA member may submit nominations for Board directors via an electronic or print nomination form. The Nominating Committee requests that as much information as possible be provided about Board candidates. All information will be kept confidential.
