Audiobook and D-Day (WWII) Nominations Wanted

Friday, April 2, is the deadline for the:

  • The Book Sense Audiobook Top Ten; and
  • The Book Sense D-Day (WWII) History Top Ten.

June 6, 2004, will mark the 60th anniversary of D-Day, the allied assault on Normandy, and in June The History Channel (THC) will air a week of specially themed programming focusing on D-Day and the war in Europe. In conjunction with this, Book Sense is producing the D-Day (WWII) Top Ten, our third collaboration on a list with THC. It’s an outstanding partnership, and we’re very hopeful this will be a superb list. You can nominate either frontlist or backlist titles, in either hardcover or paper.

The audiobooks list is an opportunity to highlight notable titles in an increasingly important format. One request: When you nominate titles, it would be a big help if you could mention some qualities of the title that make it notable, such as the narrator, production values, etc.

Nominations can be sent directly to Book Sense Picks Editor-in-Chief Dan Cullen at [email protected] or through a Web form at www.bookweb.org/read/6305.

And, looking a bit farther ahead, the deadline for the June Book Sense Picks is April 9.

And very many thanks to all the booksellers who have sent in nominations over the past few weeks!
