Celebration of Bookselling Now Full: Waitlist Forming

The American Booksellers Association’s Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Lunch at BookExpo America 2016 is currently booked to capacity; however, booksellers can add their names to a waitlist here. If space becomes available, booksellers will be notified by Friday, May 6.

The Celebration will feature the presentation of the 2016 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards. The winning authors and honor recipients who will be in attendance to receive their awards are:

  • Kate Beaton, The Princess and the Pony (Arthur A. Levine Books) — E.B. White Read-Aloud Picture Book Honoree
  • Alex Gino, George (Scholastic Press) — E.B. White Read-Aloud Middle Reader Honoree
  • Ryan T. Higgins, Mother Bruce (Disney-Hyperion) — E.B. White Read-Aloud Picture Book Award Winner
  • Loren Long, Little Tree (PYRG/Philomel) — Indie Champion Honoree
  • Richard Russo, Everybody’s Fool (Knopf) — Indie Champion Award Winner
  • Gavriel Savit, Anna and the Swallow Man (Knopf Books for Young Readers) — Indies Choice Young Adult Award Winner
  • Adam Silvera, More Happy Than Not (Soho Teen) — Indies Choice Young Adult Book Honoree
  • Maggie Stiefvater, The Raven King (Scholastic Press) — Indie Champion Honoree
  • J. Ryan Stradal, Kitchens of the Great Midwest (Pamela Dorman/Viking) — Indies Choice Adult Debut Award Winner

They will be joined at the lunch by other Indie Next List author favorites.

The Celebration of Bookselling and Author Awards Lunch will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, in McCormick Place’s Skyline Ballroom.

Following the lunch, the award winners and honorees will head over to the ABA Member Lounge for a reception and signing from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. exclusively for ABA member booksellers. Joining in the reception and signing will also be several of the Summer/Fall 2016 Indies Introduce authors, announced this week

On Thursday and Friday morning, the lounge will also be the site of signings by seven of the eight BEA breakfast speakers. Learn more.
